Aquarius Horoscope for July 2010

You've arrived at a landmark month, the month you have long awaited. Perhaps you weren't aware that July 21, 2010, would be your red-letter day, when Saturn, the taskmaster planet, would finally leave your eighth house of taxes, credit, loans, and other people's money after a grueling stay of more than two years.

Indeed this is true! Saturn's not due back to this place in your chart until October 2036. Ever since Saturn decided to give you a cosmic master's degree in personal financial management back in September 2007, you were often forced to find ways to deal with mounting debt, taxes, and credit cards. Saturn constricts whatever it touches, so even the wealthiest Aquarians likely felt Saturn's pinch.

You may have had to deal with some new and unfamiliar issues, too. You may have had to manage the sale of a relative's estate, or battle an insurance company for a payout. Your ex may not have sent child support, or your college may have reduced the amount you had grown accustomed to receiving for financial aid. You might have had to work with the police if your credit card was compromised by identity theft, or you may have struggled to pay a mortgage or back taxes.

Dear Aquarius, I am not sure why the universe asks us to deal with these kinds of challenges, but these types of things sometimes come up as a part of life. Saturn is the great teacher, and he has been known to set up painful situations to teach us the need to be resourceful and to set up contingency plans. No matter what difficulty you faced, you will be on the road to recovery as soon as you get to July 21, the date when Saturn will leave Virgo.

Mars will be in Virgo during most of the month too, leaving for Libra on July 29. This means while Mars remains in Virgo from July 1 to 28, you will continue to wrangle with financial considerations. Be cheerful, dear Aquarius, for you are at the end of a very long road. The days of trying to make ends meet are almost over. Get through July and you will be home free.

The place Saturn will go next is your ninth house of attitude and opinion, the place in the chart where you will focus on now. There are two reasons you can expect life to be moving into an easier, more comfortable chapter.

First, Saturn is considered "exalted" in Libra, meaning Saturn "likes" being in Libra, for he expresses his best qualities in that sign. Also, because Libra is an air sign like yours (and yes, Aquarius is an air sign, not a water sign), you will absorb all of Saturn's lessons more naturally, intuitively, and organically than you ever could when Saturn was in Virgo. An earth sign like Virgo could easily smother your air sign Aquarian spirit. Thank goodness, that's over now.

The second reason is that the ninth house, where Saturn will be headed for you, is considered a "cadent" house, which is weaker than where Saturn's been. Saturn won't be as pesky as he was in your eighth house, and that's a relief. The bottom line is that you are about to get a bit of a cosmic rest.

There is another reason you will likely do well with Saturn moving into your ninth house. As you go forward, Saturn will be "trine" your sun ("trine" comes from the word "triangle," meaning your Sun will receive outstandingly harmonious vibrations from the Sun) and that will allow you to set up strong, organized structures to support a larger life vision. Eventually, you'll be able to venture into areas new to you that will allow you to experience exciting growth.

In the ninth houses, Saturn will help you prepare for important career growth, for in just two years, Saturn will enter your tenth house of career advancement. That always marks a very important time in anyone's life, and it's worthy of preparation. There are many ways to do this.

The first is the most obvious. You might go to the university to study to get an advanced degree or take exams to prove your qualifications in a certain area of expertise. College study gives most people confidence, opens their mind to bigger and more varied ideas, and presents a cross-cultural perspective that adds to being a well rounded individual.

The ancient astrologers felt traveling to foreign countries was a form of education, too. You may decide to travel abroad in the coming two years. If you do, you would do so with a sense of seriousness and preparation to get the most out of your travels.

This same ninth house, where Saturn is headed, governs not only the taking in of information through study and travel, but also of the distribution of information. That's why the media, including the Internet, broadcasting, and print publishing, are included in the ninth house.

As a result, you may learn to work in television, host your own radio show, start your own blog or website, or sell a book idea for publication. There are so many ways that you can use this energy, but the point is, with Saturn in this house, you will want to draw up clear goals and be willing to work long and hard toward attaining them. By October 2012 this phase will be over and if you've worked in earnest toward your quest, you will be sitting on top of the world. Saturn never rewards during his visit but always will bestow rewards later, shortly after he departs.

Finally, another important part of life takes place in the ninth house, and it has to do with reflection and meditation. The ninth house is not only about finding, studying, and disbursing intellectual information. It is also about stepping back and deciding how to make sense of all the information you have gathered.

Philosophical debate and the intellectual tenets of religion (the actual dogma), as well as the study of morals and ethics, also fall in the ninth house. (One's religious belief is covered in another part of the chart, the twelfth house, for the twelfth house is what you know intuitively, without knowing precisely why. The ninth house covers the intellectual, analytical dogma of one's particular religion or the study of other's religions.)

If you decide to take a spiritual path in the two years to come, you will take a slow, careful, and very studied approach, for Saturn would expect no less. Your reflection would likely pay off with inspirations and insights too, so it would be worthy of the effort you give.

Elsewhere in your chart, the eclipses are raging. The last one, a lunar eclipse (a full moon) in Capricorn, came by last month on June 26, falling in your twelfth house. The July 11 eclipse, a new moon solar eclipse, will be next and will light in your sixth house of work and health.

Both the twelfth and sixth houses emphasize your health and well being. The twelfth house is the area of the chart where we go into confinement to get well, such as in a hospital or rehab center, for example. Because you might have more than usual interaction with medical practitioners, you may have decided to go in to have a procedure lately or visit someone close to you who is infirm.

Capricorn eclipses would never affect you as much as it would a cardinal sign, such as Aries, Libra, Cancer or Capricorn, not unless you have some planets in these signs at key mathematical degrees in your chart. I can't see that from here, but they'd have to be at 5 degrees or close to that.

Now the second, new moon solar eclipse will come by on July 11, but this one has to do with the measures you could choose to take to keep yourself healthy. Those include getting the necessary medical and dental checkups, eating correctly, challenging yourself with the right exercise, drinking enough water, getting enough sleep and fresh air, or to taking any necessary vitamins or medications that your doctor advises you to take.

Because this is a new moon, you can begin to get yourself on a solid course that will bring you to radiant health. From this point on, the new moon will create a path for you if you show that intention.

Ironically, all eclipses are tied to the ones that came before. Think back to the last eclipse in the series that occurred December 31 (or in other time zones, January 1, 2010). That eclipse was in the same sign that is arriving now, Cancer. If you made a vow to get fit and lose weight, but have not made much progress so far this year, this would be a better time to begin. I say that because this eclipse is a new moon, and it will open a new chapter for you if you show your intent.

Dear Aquarius, this means you can now get in the best health of your life - all you need to do is show the desire, have the faith in yourself that you can do it, and take the first steps, which are always the hardest ones! As my young daughter always said to me, "Fitness isn't fun until you're fit - but then it becomes a lot of fun." I would second that opinion! In only 6 weeks you'll see enormous progress, so start now!

An eclipse in the sixth house will also allow you to set up a new routine to do your office work more efficiently, and that might include getting a new computer or new software, hiring people to help you (and who will report to you) either at work or at home, or working on new projects that will lead to new and more varied assignments in the future.

This eclipse will also help you bring in new business if you are self-employed or help you find work if you are unemployed. Rarely is a new moon eclipse THIS beneficial - this one glows in every way!

You may decide to take a vacation, and it might be a good idea to do so in August. Why do I suggest you not leave immediately, at the end of July, the date Mars will enter your travel sector on July 29?

The answer is easy. On July 30, Mars will oppose Uranus. You might encounter road rage with another troublesome driver, or you might have car problems if you have not had your car checked by a mechanic before taking off. These two planets will be boxing with each other from your two travel sectors, so I am not enthusiastic about travel this weekend. If you do have to travel, it may be better to take a train or airplane.

The following day, July 31, won't be much better because Mars (action) and Saturn (caution) will be at odds. That's a weekend you might just want to spend at home, puttering around and enjoying the peacefulness and comfort and doing things at your own pace.

You'll be on the road so much in August you may decide to buy a car. If so, keep in mind that Mercury will retrograde on August 20 to September 12. Buying machines or electronics is never advised during these Mercury phases, so if you need to make any type of costly purchase, do so very early in the first week of August, no later.

The month will end in a sweet note. The full moon, July 25, will fall in Aquarius and help you see the fulfillment of an endeavor or relationship very dear to you. This will be one of the happiest and most charming full moons of the year, so you are indeed fortunate to have this one to call your very own.

If your birthday falls on January 23, plus or minus five days, you will feel this full moon of July 25 most and benefit most from it.

Yet all month, Saturn and Uranus will be at odds, and they will reach mathematical opposition (180 degrees apart) on July 26. This is a weird day, for you will have this stressful aspect at play, but on the very same day you will have one of the best possible aspects, Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, in perfect angle to the Sun. While your ruling planet is under siege from Saturn, you will feel the strain, but at the same time, you will have enormous favor from partners, authority figures, and clients. Those people may save the day and make a big difference in how you experience things!

Uranus will go retrograde early in the month, July 5, and remain that way until December 5. It is common for a big outer planet like Uranus to remain out of phase for five months and Uranus actually does that each year.

Since you make your best progress in new ventures and relationships when Uranus is moving direct, you may want to focus in on your present obligations and commitments, and table new ventures until December 5 and beyond. Paying more attention to all you have on your plate now is actually a good idea. Come December, and especially early February, you'll want to have cleared the decks, for many new and exciting opportunities will be coming your way.

I have saved the best for last! Your very best day this month will be July 23, when the Sun and Uranus will be in perfect harmony. This will be a day filled with happy surprises, so by all means choose it for an important interview, presentation, or first date! You decide how to use this day - just be sure you do!

Romantically, month's end will bring you special favor, doubly so if you have a steady, established partner. Indeed, attached Aquarius will have the edge because the Sun, giver of life and strength, will be shining in your house of committed partnerships from July 22 onward.

Other planets will be migrating into your committed love sector, so in weeks to come, you will have more time to lavish on your steady mate or partner. You will find your committed relationship will go smoother from now on too, partly because inflammatory Mars-in-Leo of earlier in 2010 (a tense placement that ended in March) will no longer "stir the pot." Also with Saturn moving on into Libra, money will be less of an issue between you. With tensions reducing, love can flow.

Your best romantic evenings (keeping in mind that this won't be a dazzling month for love, but a pleasant one, especially if you are already attached): July 3-4, 9, 16-17, 22, and 23-27 (your very best).

Summary

By now you must be a bit tired of coping with financial matters. During the past two years, Saturn has been on a mission to challenge you to find ways to stretch your income in ways that will allow you to do more with less money. The good news is that once Saturn leaves your house of credit, loans, and venture capital this month, on July 21, you will see an immediate easing of cash flow and you will find raising money, from any source, easier. This is news! Once gone, Saturn will not be back until 2036.

Admittedly, Mars has recently added stress to your financial situation by increasing your expenses while in Virgo, but happily, Mars will also depart this house one week later, on July 29. This should set up a remarkable change of events, for finally you will be able to get a grip on financial management and not always feel you're a victim to outside influences. Indeed, you seem to have had a number of untoward events impact your financial standing, but those dark days appear to be waning.

In the meantime, before you get to the end of July, draw up a plan you can stick to and tighten your belt. This won't be forever - soon you will reach an oasis of calm. Trust that you are almost out of the woods!

Adding to the good financial news is the fact that Jupiter, in a rare visit, will soon move back to Pisces and when he does, he'll beam his golden light to a different (earned income) financial sector from September through mid-January. Truly, in every way, every day, you will have a chance to build the kind of financial security you dreamed of having. With a little attention to money matters now, you will awaken to the day without any financial stress, and it is coming sooner than you think.

In early July, your ruling planet, Uranus, will go retrograde from July 5 to December 5. During this phase, focus on what is on your plate now, rather than forge into completely new territories or relationships. A retrograde always signals a time to double back and focus in on all you've already achieved.

Once Mars enters your ninth house of travel, July 29, to stay until September 14, you'll have a chance to hop an airplane to a city far from home. In fact, you might plan more than one trip. Short travel will also be an option, and that will be done in a much more carefree, spontaneous way than you're done so far in 2010. Hooray!

If you want to take a long weekend trip with the one you love, choose July 23-27, when dreams of love can become actualized in the most loving way.

Finally, the full moon this month will fall in Aquarius, July 25, so something of enormous importance will come to a final culmination for you. It may be something you worked toward for months or something you had hoped would happen but almost gave up thinking it would. Whatever it is, with such supportive planets - Mars, Saturn, Uranus, and Jupiter - you'll be thrilled with the results. In fact, you may even get a gift or check at the time - that's sure to put a smile on your face.

After having coped with so much stress, you really do have reasons to feel you are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Life is about to be different, and far better, dear Aquarius.

Financial matters have drained you lately, but life is about to get better.

Once Saturn leaves your eighth house of other people's money for good on July 21, you can finally find solutions to increase cash flow and lower debt. Saturn won't be back until 2036, and you won't miss him!

Mars has also been adding expenses to your ledgers. Mars will leave this same area of other people's money - and help you reduce debt - from July 29 onward.

Once Jupiter returns to your earned income sector on September 9, to stay through January 22, 2011, you will also find salary offers to be more generous.

As you see, you have multiple reasons to feel that finances will improve: Jupiter's arrival to your earned income sector will help, plus Saturn and Mars' departures will also be a big relief.

Romantically, with Mercury and the Sun in your partnership sector, if you have an established partner you swill have a bit more fun this month. While romance won't be a huge theme this month, you will enjoy being together, having more time, and sharing thoughts.

You will have lots of time to travel, especially at month's end. See if you can go away the long weekend of July 23-27.

A relationship or project / endeavor / experience of enormous importance will reach fullness on the full moon in Aquarius July 25. If you were born on or near January 23, you will feel the results most powerfully. A check or gift may show up, too.
