Aries Horoscope for July 2010

You get bored easily and often want a lot of excitement, but lately you might feel things have been too over the top. Last month we had a full moon lunar eclipse in Cancer 5 degrees on June 26, with cardinal signs (Aries, Libra, Cancer, and Capricorn) playing a leading role. Your career and professional reputation were the focus, and now another eclipse - its twin, only this time a solar eclipse - is due July 11, emphasizing your home and family. Of the two, the one that already occurred was the bigger and the more dramatic, especially if you are a March-born Aries. If you have a birthday that falls within five days of April 9, you will feel the news of the July 11 eclipse more, and as said, it will focus on your home.

Last month's eclipse formed a cardinal cross pattern in the sky with other planets. Whenever we have a cross, there are at least four "squares" (planets at 90 degrees) and two oppositions, but this one had twelve squares and six oppositions. Mama Mia! That is a lot. If you were frustrated about your career or any situation involving your career, that situation was coming to a head.

When planets clash like they did at that eclipse last month, it becomes obvious that the center will not hold and as things spin out of control, pieces fly in all directions - and you are almost forced to make a choice. It was (and still is) time to cut loose from any sort of debilitating situation. After you do, you'll feel liberated and free, and although you may be unsure of the future, one thing you are sure about is that you didn't need that old job.

Some Aries had very good news - things were happening in the extreme, either very, very celebratory - or terrible. If you got a promotion or new job, you may be celebrating as you get to July.

Other times, an eclipse can correct an error made in the past, often one made not too long ago. Let's say you lost your job or if you are self-employed, lost a client thorough no fault of your own. The budget was cut and you were out, or a new boss was hired and he hired people he knew. Now, another eclipse in the same family of signs comes by and suddenly they are begging for you to come back. Admittedly, those types of situations are rare, but they do happen. When they do, it feels like a miracle! (I have had it twice, and it's delicious!)

Eclipses are helpful, for they create an urgency to act. An eclipse will always ask you to move forward in your life with courage and passion. The universe feels that your time should be put to the very best use, and will often send an eclipse to bring about enlightenment and change. Sometimes we feel stuck and unable to think our way out of a dead-end situation, but an eclipse will very suddenly release you from that bad situation and give you no choice but to seek alternative options.

If no career news came up for you last month, you might hear something on or near July 26. Keep your antenna up because sometimes an eclipse will exert its news a month to the day later, plus or minus five days.

This eclipse focused you on the type of work you would like to do in our lifetime. It would center your thoughts on the way you will prove your talents, express creativity as well as your leadership abilities, and allow you to think about how you'd most like to make your best contribution to the world.

Deciding these types of questions might all sound like a tall order, and it is, but because your tenth house of fame and honors is the place the eclipse occurred, it's time to explore answers. You now will have a superb opportunity to think about your vocation in a new way. Sometimes we simply don't want to think about any of these things, but actually you can use this eclipse to your advantage.

Jupiter in Aries is standing next to you like a big, burly lifeguard, so as you jump from one rock to another as cross the ravine to a new way of life, Jupiter in Aries will make sure your footing will be secure. When we have Jupiter helping us, we have a huge margin of error, an advantage the other signs don't have, so you can take a judicious risk. You've not had this advantage since 1999. Jupiter will leave September 9 when he backs into Pisces, but he will return to Aries in January. Uranus, now in Aries too, is making you super-creative and original and also unwilling to fit into a mold. It's your time, dear Aries, so be as idiosyncratic as you want to be. You seem to be on to something big, or will be soon.

Mars, your ruler, is in Virgo, so you seem to be working on a project that involves a lot of detail and concentration. By the end of July, Mars will move on, and you will be done with this project that seems to have made you concentrate hard. Mars in Virgo is a good time to attend to health matters - perhaps you will want to do more sports or go to the gym more often to offset stress.

Two days when you may not feel as energetic as usual, for Mars, your ruler, will be meeting with Saturn, are July 30 and 31. You may feel stymied by someone or a circumstance on these days and conditions won't be quite right for moving forward. Slow down, for in a day or two you will get beyond this impasse.

If you would like to acquire a pet, this would be the month to do so. Start looking near July 9, but actually, with Mars in Virgo, the whole month until July 28 would be fine. Astrological wisdom states it is not a good idea to make any big moves on an eclipse, so hang back on this idea on July 11, plus or minus one day.

Still, your work environment will soon improve. Saturn, the taskmaster planet, will leave Virgo for the first time since September 2007. Technically, what I just said is quite not correct. Saturn did leave Virgo briefly from the end of October 2009 through early April 2010, but that was a quick and temporary exit. Before you could exhale, Saturn was back. Now Saturn is leaving for good, and you will find that in the future you won't have to shoulder so much of the work by yourself. Times are changing, dear Aries, and soon your life will look and feel very different.

The next eclipse is due on July 11, and this one, a new moon solar eclipse in Cancer, will focus you on where you'd like to live, with whom, and what the look and feel of your home - and your lifestyle - would look like. Career and home go hand-in-hand, so both are up for thought and discussion.

This July 11 eclipse won't have the heavy-duty emotional drama of the full moon lunar eclipse of June 26. New moons are objective and practical, while full moons of any sort are more emotional, for they bring up feelings, memories, hopes, and desires. While the last eclipse ended a situation or corrected one, this eclipse will help you set your home and family life on a new course. That doesn't mean that the changes are easy to make (sometimes they are, sometimes they aren't), but either way, they will lead you to a new and improved situation.

I will admit, all eclipses seem to ask for some sort of adjustment or sacrifice and often give usual twists to events. An eclipse will say, "You give me this, I'll give you that," but the new doesn't always dovetail with the old at the very same time. Still, new moon solar eclipses are often quite exciting, for they open a brand new path. With Saturn opposing Uranus this month, it's time to decide what is outmoded and needs to go, and what is new and possibly worthy of adding to your life. This eclipse series will be in a hurry to get things rolling for you.

Occasionally, an eclipse of the Sun will "eclipse out" a person from your environment, and if so, it would likely be a male, for the Sun is always interpreted as male. Cancer rules home and family, so the person is likely to be someone you live with or who is part of your family and an authority figure. Perhaps your soon-to-be ex is finally moving out, or your father will announce that he's moving south to a warm and sunny climate.

It is a busy time for you, so you will need a bit of relaxation, dear Aries. The universe seems to understand and will send you a lovely full moon over the weekend of July 24-25 to help you bring a bit of balance and fun to your life. Over this weekend, you may have a party, club event, friend's wedding, or other reason to join lots of other people, even if it's at a baseball game or theme park. Whatever you do this weekend, you seem to thoroughly enjoy yourself.

I say this because this full moon will reach out to Jupiter (luck), Uranus (surprise), and Mars (action). Events should be a lot of fun and perhaps the best part is that it will come up in quite an unexpected way. (Or, if you know you have this event on your schedule, find the time because events seem to bubble up nicely in ways you could not have anticipated.) Friends or others seem to be around you, as you appear to be in the middle of a large mass of people.

You may be going to a friend's wedding, birthday party, charity benefit, block party, industry function, baseball game (or other spectator sport), and theme park. Attend a cultural event, like a play or concert, or go to another where lots of people would be drawn together. This full moon will be a favorite for all Aries, but doubly so for those Aries born early in their sign, in March.

Romantically, if you are attached, Saturn's move into Libra on July 21 for the coming two years means you will become more interested in a serious relationship. You will have a timetable in mind, for Saturn is well known for making time seem more precious. You will become more discriminating about whom you'll date, and if you don't see things progress forward when you think they should, you may become frustrated and even consider leaving.

If you are attached, you will have to keep your eye on your partner for any signs of strain or unresolved resentments. This will be your new area of concern for the coming two years. It will be vital that you keep lines of communication wide open, for if you don't know your partner's true feelings, things could fester. Alternatively, Saturn's placement could mean your partner will be under more strain and will need you to understand his or her situation and to be supportive. Make sure your partner keeps up a healthy lifestyle, too.

Mercury will go retrograde on August 20 to September 12, so during part of that time, you might want to take a vacation. Next month won't be as productive as July - hurry and seal pressing matters so that you can get some free time in August. You will begin to feel the slowdown as soon as August 9.

This month, your happiest, most romantic days will occur over the July 24-25 weekend, thanks to the full moon and the Sun's perfect angle to Jupiter in Aries. It's a four-star weekend!

Days when fun and love (and everything else) will go your way: July 3-4, 8-9, 13, 22, 23, and 25-26 (gold-star days). Add too: July 27, 28.

Summary

Now that Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, is in Aries (which started June 6, and will stay until September 9), you will soon discover that you have the magic touch in all phases of life, whether in regard to career, money, home, love - you name it, the works! Because Jupiter, planet of expansion and even miracles, has not been in Aries since 1999, you could be thrilled with your newfound luck. Clearly, the tide is turning to your favor, although sometimes to sample it, you have to give up something tried-and-true to unlock the goodies to come.

In your career, you seem to be ready for an entrepreneurial venture, but with everyone's optimism running high, including yours, you may be tempted to overestimate the potential of a risky venture. Slow down and look at every detail. Many offers will come to you now, and you'll find some very special, but others a little nutty (or downright insane). Mars in detail-oriented Virgo will help you pay close attention if you exert a little bit of effort.

A major new moon eclipse July 11 in your house of home may find you moving to a new address. Sign leases or contractor contracts, or buy / sell your condo early in the month, in advance of Jupiter's impending retrograde motion on July 23. Note that July 1, 3, and 22 will all be positive days for any home or family initiatives.

The position of Mars, your ruler, is always a fairly accurate barometer of your state of mind. This month Mars is heating your workaday sector, so it will be busy and you'll be hard pressed to get away on a holiday now. Plan to go in August or September. With fewer co-workers, more work will fall to you, but happily, Venus will be in your office sector too, so you will need co-workers to be approachable and cooperative. If you someone need to help you, don't hesitate to ask the person in the next cubicle. This crush of work won't last forever - by the end of July, Saturn will leave your work / environment area and you'll find your workload easier to handle.

Romantically, July 22-26 could bring exciting developments. Whether you are single or attached, these days seem to have something for every Aries. The Sun will be cordially meeting with several planets including Jupiter (happiness), Uranus (surprise), and Mars (action - and your ruler). At the same time, the full moon July 25 will bring many friends to you. This period will be your best, so plan to be out to discover what life has to offer.

If you are attached, with Mars moving into your "just us two" sector on July 30 for a two-month stay, you'll have more time to spend with your partner. Saturn will have already moved into this area on July 21, so it's clear you'll be getting more realistic and also more goal-oriented when it comes to your relationship. You'll want to see your alliance progress steadily to the next level, and if things stagnate, you may conclude your partner "is just not that into you" and move on. If love is real, you'll know that too and be more eager to commit than ever before.

Dates to Note for Aries:

Jupiter in Aries this month should bring exciting developments. If single, you may fall in love soon, especially if you are a March-born Aries. Expect surprises - your magnetism will be very high.

Your most romantic dates of the month: July 3-4, 8-9, 13, and 22-26 (gold star). Add too: July 27, 28.

A big social event will dot your calendar: July 25 plus or minus four days.

In love, try not to be too analytical or too critical - both will undermine efforts to find and enjoy love.

Your office will be busy all month, but co-workers will be cheerful. A vacation does not seem possible yet, but in late August you might want to duck out.

With Mars in Virgo, you'll need to be detailed and organized at the office - lots of work will come through the door.

You may want to adopt a pet this month, and if so, it's a good time to go to the animal shelter to see which little creature calls out to you.

The eclipse of July 11 may bring major shifts to home, residence, other property, or family. Listen carefully to news.

Saturn and Uranus oppose one another July 27 for the last time in until 2056.Those born at the end of June may have a serious meditation about marriage and commitment.

You will have more time for your partner once Mars leaves Virgo and enters Libra, July 29.

On July 31, Mars will meet Saturn, so although you'll want to push forward, Saturn will tell you to be cautious. Slowing down a decision will be a good idea, at least for a few days.

Protect health at month's end, as you may feel you are dragging. Be good to yourself.

These eclipses are not like most others, and I said to Bill that I wished I had a way to reach my readers in a more direct, warm, and natural way to explain all that was about to happen in June through Labor Day in the United States, September 6.
