Virgo Horoscope for July 2010

This will be a landmark month, for at long last, Saturn, the taskmaster planet that has tested you vigorously since September 2007, will leave Virgo on July 21. He will not be back until October 2036. You have become stronger and wiser, have grown in authority and maturity, and have faced challenges that only a few years ago would have thrown you. It would be easy for you not to see all the changes that have occurred in you, so stop for a second and think about where you've been in life since 2007.

All the trials and tribulations you endured were worthwhile, for you are more equipped to handle whatever life will send your way. Think back about how far you've come in three years, dear Virgo, and take a moment to congratulate yourself.

The two areas that will improve immediately in your life will be your health and relationships. Having Saturn arm in arm with the Sun is considered a very draining, testing aspect, but you are almost finished with that phase now and nothing you face in years to come will be as hard as what you have already come through.

Saturn will move into your second house of financial management and earnings and help you set up a more stable financial base. If you feel you don't know much about managing money, as you move forward, you might opt to take classes or to go to a financial advisor for help. Like all of Saturn's trends, this one will be a long one, as it will stretch into October 2012.

During this period, you may find that you can't quite get the kind of salary you had hoped to negotiate. Changing jobs won't quite help. When Saturn is in the second house, every employer you encounter will be bit tight fisted. You'll have to find a way to make yourself indispensable, which should not be too hard. You are a very productivity-minded Virgo after all, and it's always obvious to employers to decide who is expendable and who is not. While you will be thinking you're working hard for the money (as the song goes), that's nothing new. Everyone is, but the difference is, you will be more effective, for you not only work hard but also smart.

This month, you may have to redo a financial arrangement or renegotiate something because you are suddenly quite unhappy with the way things are going on July 26. It's a good day, because Jupiter will cooperate with the Sun beautifully, but Saturn and Uranus will be going at each other's throats again (this pair just can't get along - they've been fighting since November 2008, but thankfully this is their very last row).

Then, on July 30, Mars, standing on the sidelines to this argument between Saturn and Uranus, will get all riled up and start yelling at Uranus too, making this a very hot button day for financial talks. I think you'll want to hide under a banana leaf in the deepest, darkest part of the jungle, so no one can find you and where BlackBerrys don't get a signal.

Against this background, we also have the eclipses that will be busy working on the two social areas of your chart. The first eclipse came last month as a full moon lunar eclipse on June 26 and lit your house of romance. Eclipses throw matters into high contrast, so things may have been very, very good or dreadful between you and a sweetheart - there seems to be no middle course. If you have a strong relationship, you know it now, but if there were thoughts festering, or if your partner had other ideas that you didn't know about, those facts sprang to the surface so fast it made your head spin.

That eclipse was a tough one because it was arguing with a host of planets in just about every corner of the sky. It could have brought on very intense discussion. Full moons bring a high degree of closure, though, so at least you know where you stand. The main two areas accented were new love and all matters dealing with pregnancy and the care of children, no matter what their ages. A surprise pregnancy could have come up, or if one of your children needs special lessons or testing, that could have been a topic of conversation. If you are getting a divorce, perhaps child custody was being settled.

No matter what occurred, you will grow from this experience, for that eclipse was in Capricorn (an earth sign like yours) and was particularly beneficial to Virgo - and doubly so for those born within five days of August 27.

Now we have another eclipse, July 11, only this one will occur in Cancer (also friendly to your Sun). This one will light your solar eleventh house of friends and communities of people, and also focus on your involvement in clubs and social media. Keep in mind that any new moon eclipse (this one will be a solar new moon) is worthy of three new moons rolled into one. They are very, very powerful. Be careful about anything you post online and the pictures you share - you could get yourself into trouble. Think twice before you push the send button.

A great many new people appear to be entering your life now, as acquaintances, friends, fans, admirers, colleagues, and associates all will be among those you meet. It's time to refresh your circle of people around you, and the eclipse will see that you do. While people will come into your life, one or two important ones may leave, as an eclipse could "eclipse out" someone close for any number of reasons.

There may be at least one friend who is suffering near you, but you may be completely oblivious to this fact. Once you figure out who it is, you will genuinely want to help. It may be as simple as listening very carefully to what is being said to you and the way the message is delivered. People often conceal pain - it will be up to you to see it and help.

You may be involved with a humanitarian or charity effort this month, and that would explain why I see you surrounded by so many new faces. This will be an exciting and expansive trend, for this new moon will be so beautifully angled to Jupiter (luck and happiness), Uranus (surprise and to some degree, humanitarian interests), and Mars (actions).

You are fortunate too that you have Mars in Virgo, a signal that you are now in the process of starting a whole new cycle. The projects and relationships you begin now will carry you forward for at least two years, so choose carefully. Everyone wants Mars on their side, for it puts you out in front as leader of the parade. Mars will make you more attractive too, so even in your love life, you'll get noticed and feel sought after.

Not only will you have Mars in your sign, which is an awesome advantage, but also Venus too, from July 10 to August 6, which should also amp up your dating and social life to a high level.

The one exception to the rule will be those Virgos who are born late in their sign, say, near September 17-21. If that's you, you have Uranus opposed to your Sun, a very jarring and difficult, separating aspect when it comes to love or any other kind of partnership. This same aspect would also bring on aggressive competitors. Uranus has been opposed to your Sun since March 2003, although Uranus took years to get late in the sign to focus on you.

Other Virgos have already gone into the belly of the beast, and I feel you already know what I am talking about. You have been under unusual stress because you had Uranus opposed to your Sun while at the same time Saturn was traveling ON your Sun. Relationships, competitors, and health were the most vulnerable areas of difficulty.

This month you are saying goodbye to Saturn, and by March 2011, you will be free of Uranus, too. In truth, this past May 27, Uranus briefly left Pisces, giving you some relief, but will re-emerge in Pisces on August 13. It's common for a big, important planet to go back and forth in a sign before it leaves for good. The challenges you are feeling now are quite apparent, and you are already coping with them. Things won't likely get any harder - you are "there" now.

Your challenge is complex and you realize that whatever you are facing requires some patience because it's a process that will take time to get through. When this phase it is over, you will be in a whole new place of the mind and heart, dear Virgo. I am with you and sympathize with all that you've faced. Those born near September 17 to 21 are the ones feeling this now, but soon all this will be a distant memory.

The only life worth living is the courageous one. You may think you are unlucky to have the difficulties you are facing now, but actually, you are the lucky one, for you are now doing the true work of life, facing problems and fighting them head on and becoming who you truly are. We don't reveal our true measure in times of ease, but rather in times of stress. While in stressful times, none of us have any extra energy to be anything but the person we are at the core - that reflection of you is the one you exert naturally and organically.

What you see in the mirror when you look in the future will be a very strong person you can be proud to say you have come to be. Like the old adage, does the person make the times or the times make the person? I feel when facing a difficult barrage of energy from Saturn and Uranus, it's a little of both, but a little bit more toward the times making the person - and a very fine person you have become, dear Virgo.

Your office life will be the topic of the full moon, July 25, for it looks like you will be wrapping up an important assignment. This full moon just brims with good energy. Jupiter will reach out to that moon, and on the next day, July 26, to the Sun, indicating you will impress the powers at the very top. Saturn will be supportive, as will Uranus and Mars - now that's a LOT of planetary support!

Here's how to use this new moon. If you like, you can pitch new business if you are self-employed or make a major presentation. If you hand in a finished project within five days of this date, you will be very proud of what you did. This is not so much the time to accept a new job as it is to do an important project, because a job taken when there's a new moon in the sixth house is usually one on the same level as you've had before.

Actually, there is an exception to this rule. If you began interviewing just after the new moon last month, June 12, in your house of fame and honors, then this position would be prestigious one. Often high-level jobs take time to manifest.

The end of July is truly a wonder time, with so many lovely aspects. While it is true that Jupiter and Pluto will be at odds on July 24, that only means that you will have to make a decision about a venture you started a long time ago - say, near December 2007. If the venture is no longer viable, you might leave it, or if it is, tweak it or add more energy, time, or money to it. The choice, like all of astrology, is yours.

One last note - this full moon July 25 could mark a wonderful time to get involved with sports, see about joining a gym, or get a checkup or procedure to improve your health. With Mars in Virgo, you seem to have an excess of energy, so channel it to do the most good! Pets are known to help improve health, and the ancient astrologers seemed to know this intuitively because pets also come under the sixth house of health - if you want a pet, this would be the time to think about getting one. If you have one, spend more time playing together. It will do you a world of good!

Summary

Your social life has grabbed your attention, but possibly in an unsettling way. The eclipses, appearing now, are cutting across your private sectors, and what came to light late in June may have centered on someone important you've been dating. News may have made you upset or concerned about the welfare of the person in question. A pregnancy or the care of a certain child may also have been a topic of conversation. Events may have affected your finances last month too, in a way you had not expected.

As opposed to last month, when you were thinking about a lover, this month the next eclipse, July 11, will focus you on new and old friends. Additionally, this eclipse, being SO helpful, may open the door for you to make many new acquaintances, even through social media. One friend you have now may go out of her way to help you. If you experienced a break up with a romantic partner lately, ask a pal to help you get back into circulation now.

With Venus in Virgo from July 10 to August 6, and Mars in Virgo until July 30, your charisma will be sky high, and you'll feel more confident about getting out and making the rounds. It's time to get back in the game, dear Virgo.

Money has been tight earlier in the year, but this month brings a dazzling development. Jupiter and Uranus will both light your eighth house of "other people's money," allowing you to get access to funding to launch a dream dear to you. Whether you need venture capital, a mortgage, scholarship, or university financial aid, you should set out to find it, for never have you had a better chance to get it. Aim to have the sum you need in hand by September 9, the date Jupiter will leave this area of your chart. If in a divorce, settle now, not later.

July is often all about fun and vacations, but the full moon of July 25, plus or minus four days, will require you to work hard on an office assignment.

This same full moon will be the perfect point to see how you've been doing this year with improving your diet and increasing your exercise. If you've not been treating yourself with tender loving care, you can start now, with really stunning results.

Mercury, your ruler, will be beautifully cordial to a plethora of planets, and this unusual setup will help you make progress on many levels. Watch July 1 when Mars speaks to Mars in Virgo - you'll be able to initiate a plan with authority that others will follow. Here are the dates Mercury will be most helpful to you:

July 1 - launch an important initiative or have a first meeting with a business associate.

July 9 - social activities in love and friendship can show improvement and upbeat results.

July 11- Mercury and Jupiter will be beautifully oriented. It's a perfect day for financial actions and to get good news. Sign a contract.

July 30 - Mercury will send a beam to Pluto, love will glow.

If you have a pet, you might want to give your little furry creature extra time at month's end. You've been preoccupied lately, but as the month winds to a close, you may notice a yen to slow the pace. Your little pet loves you and would appreciate your undivided attention - in July's the last week, you'll be ready to comply.

Dates to Note for Virgo:

Last month, near June 26 you may have experienced a difficult episode in matters of love - as you begin July, you will have choices to make. Alternatively, a baby may be the topic of discussion.

You may make a new friend after the July 11 solar eclipse, or benefit from an old friend, or you may take social media seriously and join in a big way. Watch for pitfalls, though - talking too much about your private life could backfire.

Financially, watch your spending all month, but doubly so near the opposition of Saturn and Uranus on July 26 and Mars and Uranus on July 30. Financial surprises near this day won't be good ones.

Venus in Virgo from July 10 to August 6 will increase your charm significantly.

Be prepared to work hard near the full moon July 25, plus or minus four days, for you'll need to conclude a big project. You'll have reason to feel proud when your boss praises you.

Pay attention to your little pet near that same full moon, July 26.

Month's end will be the time to reassess health and fitness goals. See how far you've come.

Most romantic dates: July 1, 5-6, 10, 11 (wild card), 14-15, 23-24, 26, and 28.

These eclipses are not like most others, and I said to Bill that I wished I had a way to reach my readers in a more direct, warm, and natural way to explain all that was about to happen in June through Labor Day in the United States, September 6.
